Pullman Brisbane Airport Crowned #1 in Pacific as Accor Dominates 2026 Skytrax World Airport Awards

Accor

Accor, the largest hotel operator in the Pacific region, has once again delivered a commanding performance in the annual Skytrax World Airport Awards, with Pullman Brisbane Airport crowned Best Airport Hotel in Australia / Pacific, leading an extraordinary result that saw the Group secure five of the top six positions across the region.

The accolade marks the fifth win in the past six Skytrax Awards for Pullman Brisbane Airport, owned by Brisbane-based brothers Scott and Anthony Flynn - two of Accor's most prominent franchise partners in the Pacific. This latest victory once again cements the hotel's status as the region's benchmark for airport hospitality, while its previous rankings among the World's Top 10 Airport Hotels highlights its standing on the global stage.

“We are thrilled to see Pullman Brisbane Airport once again recognised as the Best Airport Hotel in Australia / Pacific,” said Alex Penklis, Chief Executive Officer of Brisbane Airport Hotels Group.

“This award is a testament to the dedication, skill and passion of our team. From day one, our goal has been to redefine what an airport hotel can be - combining premium comfort, thoughtful design and a seamless guest experience. Being acknowledged in such a competitive region reinforces that our approach is resonating with travellers, and we remain committed to raising the bar for airport hospitality with every stay.”

Strategically positioned at Brisbane Airport and purpose-built for the modern traveller, Pullman Brisbane Airport continues to redefine the airport hotel experience - seamlessly blending premium design, elevated comfort and intuitive service to meet the needs of both business and leisure guests.

Accor's dominance in the 2026 rankings highlights the depth and strength of its airport hotel network, with the following properties recognised among the region's best:

  • Pullman Brisbane Airport (1st)
  • Te Arikinui Pullman Auckland Airport (3rd)
  • Novotel Sydney Airport (4th)
  • Novotel Christchurch Airport (5th)
  • Pullman Sydney Airport (6th)

The result reflects the Group's strategic focus in airport precincts, with Accor expanding its airport hotel portfolio in the Pacific by 21% over the past two years, now operating 23 hotels across the region.

This growth includes the landmark opening of Novotel and ibis Styles Melbourne Airport in 2024, a 464-room dual-branded development that has transformed the airport precinct into a fully integrated destination, complete with wellness facilities and co-working spaces. Looking ahead, Accor will further strengthen its network with the opening of Pullman Perth Airport in 2027, the first hotel within the Perth Airport estate.

Across New Zealand, Te Arikinui Pullman Auckland Airport has quickly established itself as a flagship property, becoming the first five-star hotel within the Auckland Airport precinct and setting a new standard for culturally connected hospitality, just steps from the international terminal.

“Airport precincts are evolving rapidly into vibrant, multi-dimensional destinations, and Accor is proud to play a leading role alongside our partners in that transformation,” said Adrian Williams, Chief Operating Officer for Accor in the Pacific region.

“Today's travellers expect far more than proximity to the terminal - they're looking for quality, experience and a sense of place, whether travelling for business, leisure or a blend of both. Airport hotels are no longer just about convenience; they play a critical role in shaping the overall travel journey. Working hand-in-hand with our airport and hotel partners, we are delivering hotels designed for modern travellers. These awards are a strong endorsement of that partnership and our shared ambition to redefine airport hospitality.”

Accor continues to strengthen its presence across the Pacific region, reinforcing its position as the leading and largest hotel group in Australia and New Zealand. With a growing portfolio of 400+ hotels, resorts and extended-stay properties, the Group is accelerating development in key urban and leisure destinations, supported by strong owner partnerships and a robust pipeline.
